Vulkanregion Laacher See

Seething volcanoes, erupting magma, ash-filled air and violent explosions. These are scenes from a long distant past – scenes that largely shaped life in the Laacher See holiday region 130,000 years ago, when the Laacher See volcano erupted. The landscape of this holiday region, located in the Volcanic Eifel, was largely shaped by volcanism. Today it is a paradise for all those who enjoy tracking: Trekkers, experienced mountain bikers and nature lovers can look forward to a trip through 400,000 years of geological history on various geological trails and “dream trails”. Here in the Volcano Park, visitors can experience the full diversity of a natural and unspoilt volcanic heritage.
